UPDATE: A multi-vehicle crash involving an overturned dump truck stopped Wednesday morning rush-hour traffic on Route 80. The eastbound express lanes just past Exit 62 and a westbound lane were closed after the truck pitched onto the divider and spilled both gravel and diesel fuel in Saddle Brook shortly after 6:30 a.m. June 7, responders said. Ambulance Overturns At Garden State Parkway Essex County Toll Plaza
Two people were injured after an ambulance overturned at the Essex County Toll Plaza Thursday morning, June 1 on the Garden State Parkway, state police said. The crash happened at 9:06 a.m. after the ambulance struck the toll plaza, Philip Curry, a public information officer for the New Jersey State Police said. The two occupants sustained minor injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital, Curry said. Toll lanes 8, 9, 10 and 11 remain closed as police continue to investigate the crash, Curry said.

: Tractor-Trailer Fire Jams NJ Turnpike Rush Into NYC
A tractor-trailer burst into flames on the I-95 approach from the New Jersey Turnpike to the George Washington Bridge, clogging the Tuesday morning rush. The driver got the rig onto the shoulder of the local lanes near mile marker 117, roughly two-tenths of a mile before the Ridgefield Park exit, shortly after 6:30 a.m. May 16. Flames spread along the bottom of the trailer as the driver got out safely. Black smoke could be seen for miles. Ridgefield Park firefighters doused the blaze. No injuries were immediately reported. New Jersey State Police are investigating the cause.

Chicken Waste Spill Causes HazMat Situation Along South Jersey Highway
A trailer hauling chicken waste products crashed, spilling its contents all over Route 55 and causing a HazMat situation in Gloucester County on Monday, Feb. 27. The northbound side of the roadway was closed in Deptford from mile marker 59.2 to the Route 42 interchange following the 9 a.m. crash. The roadway had reopened as of 1:45 p.m., but crews were still on scene for cleanup. HazMat crews, the New Jersey State Police, NJDOT, and multiple fire departments were on scene. Environmental services were notified and were monitoring the incident. No injuries were reported.
