A man who has worked as an art teacher in the Newark public school system for 19 years has been charged with multiple counts of sexual assault involving a student, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said Wednesday.
Luis Aviles, 50, of Allentown, Pennsylvania, allegedly assaulted the 14-year-old boy on multiple occasions between December 2017 and September.
The assaults occurred on school grounds while school was in session, the boy told authorities.
