Police are seeking the public's help identifying a man wanted in a Newark shooting investigation.

Officers responding to a shooting on the 100 block of South Devine Street around 1:10 p.m. Aug. 4, where a victim was laying on the ground with gunshot wounds, Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara said.

A relative of the victim told police that his cousin was shot when a gunman fired at them from the back seat of a black SUV Audi that pulled up with a black Suburban Denali, O'Hara said.

The relative knew the driver of the Suburban Denali, and the victim was taken to University Hospital.

While detectives investigate this incident and seek the public’s help with locating the individual in the picture below, Director O’Hara urges anyone with information to call the Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
