Jianna Clay, 11, Of Belleville, Active Girl Who Excelled At Bible Studies

An 11-year-old girl from Belleville, Jianna Mikayla Clay, died in her parents' arms Thursday.

Born in Belleville, Jianna was a fifth-grade honors student at Hawthorne Christian Academy who did especially well in Bible class. An active girl, she was an expert Roblox player and took part in hip-hop worship classes. A jokester, she also loved to sing, paint and take part in crafts, including making slime and lanyard bracelets. 

Jianna is survived by her loving mother and father, Justin and Ana (nee Munoz) Clay; her cherished sister Marriah Munoz; her maternal grandparents, Gilma Zabala and Luis Munoz; paternal grandmother Katherine Clay; her caring uncles Frank Munoz, Fabricio Munoz, and Jordan Clay and his wife Shirley; her caring aunt Isabel Rivera; and dear cousins Juliana and Juliet. She also leaves behind her beloved pet chihuahua, Peanut. 

She is predeceased by James Michael Clay, her paternal grandfather. 

Arrangements were by the Biondi Funeral Home, Nutley. Visitation was held at Calvary Temple in Wayne. A private cremation was planned.
