Schedule Of Parking Restrictions In Newark Announced As Filming Continues

Film production in Newark continues over the next several days, with a number of streets where parking will be prohibited, police said.

The production, "West Side Story," a remake of the 1961 film being directed by Steven Spielberg, has filmed mostly in Paterson but Newark locales have been used in recent weeks.

The dates and locations for restricted parking are:

No Parking will be available at the below locations during the following times:

4 p.m. Friday, September 13 to 8 a.m. Saturday, September 14

· No parking from 358 Parker Street to 399 Parker Street

7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, September 13

· No parking at South Orange Avenue from Alexander Street to Brookdale Avenue

4 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday, September 18, 2019

· No parking at Washington Street from Central Ave to Broad Street

· No parking at Halsey Street from Washington Place to Bleeker Street
