Newark Officials, Civic Groups Hosting Free Dinners For The Needy In December

The city of Newark as well as a number of civic organizations will host a series of free weekly dinners next month for the benefit of the city's vulnerable population.

Mayor Ras Baraka, North Ward Council Member Anibal Ramos and the rest of the city council as well as the Hispanic Law Enforcement Society of Essex County, Hispanic, Lighthouse Assembly of God, Dominican Parade of Essex County, Ecuadorian American Chambers of Commerce NJ & Ecuadorian Parade and Festival Committee, Sinai Post-Acute Nursing & Rehab Center, and Puerto Rican Day Parade, Inc. are also helping host the dinners. 

The dinners will be held at the Vince Lombardi Center for Hope, 201 Bloomfield Ave., from 3 to 6 p.m. every Sunday in December (Dec. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29). 

Census 2020 representatives will be on site providing information.
