The incident happened Friday afternoon, April 18, at a swearing-in ceremony for Dr. Mehmet Oz to oversee the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services when a girl in the crowd appeared to faint.
The girl was a member of Oz's family, and she has recovered, the White House said in a statement, noting, "We are happy to say she is okay.”
The incident happened as President Trump was speaking behind a microphone near the Resolute Desk.
Moments after the incident happened, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt instructed all members of the media to leave, and Trump cut his remarks short.
An aide was heard yelling, "Everybody out, please move,” and "no photos."
