Newark's Curfew For Kids Postponed: Mayor The City of Newark has announced it is postponing its Juvenile Safety Ordinance, which was scheduled to go into effect on Friday, April 12. Mayor Ras Baraka and Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said a press conference will be scheduled and announced next week to include plans for the city’s Summer Safety Initiative. Elizabeth Man Gets 25 Year For Attempting To Kill Woman With Car After Crash A 57-year-old Elizabeth man was sentenced to 25 years in state prison on Friday, April 12 on the two-year anniversary of when he ran over a woman with his SUV following a minor crash, authorities said. Truck Overturns In Three-Vehicle Crash: Njsp Two trucks and a car collided in a three-car crash on Thursday, April 11 on Route 80 in Morris County, causing one of the trucks to overturn, authorities said. At 1:58 p.m., a Freightliner tractor-trailer, a Subaru passenger vehicle and an Isuzu box truck were traveling westbound on Route 80 in Rockaway Township when they collided, causing the Isuzu to overturn, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. The driver of the Subaru sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.

Three Paterson Residents Committed Check Fraud: Denville PD A trio from Paterson were arrested and charged on Wednesday, April 10 with passing bad checks in Morris County, police said. Officers investigated a report of check fraud at a local bank, Denvile police said in a release. The investigation led to the arrest of Oliver Hall, 51, Ramon Olivo-Olivia, 46 and Marilyn Morel-Diaz, police said. Hunterdon County Man Busted With Narcotics In QuickChek Parking Lot: Police A 40-year-old Lebanon Borough resident was arrested on Friday, April 12 after he was discovered with narcotics in a QuickChek parking lot in Readington, police said. Student Hospitalized After Assault At Essex County High School: Police A student was hospitalized after being assaulted at a high school in Essex County on Tuesday, April 9, authorities said. Maplewood police said a student at Columbia High School was assaulted by a student from a different school. The victim was treated by and transported with their parent to an area hospital by South Essex Fire Department, Maplewood police said in a release. Driver, 43, Dies In Crash With Dump Truck, Guardrail On Route 80: State Police A 43-year-old Paterson man was killed after he crashed into a truck on Route 80 in Essex County on the early morning of Friday, April 12, authorities said. New Film Studio Approved For This North Jersey Town West Orange is going to back to its movie-making roots. Last December, the township approved a redevelopment agreement to develop a film studio at the site credited with the birthplace film industry. The studio will be build on 12.2 acres adjacent to Thomas Edison National Historical Park and behind the Edison Lofts on Main Street, the site of the original film production studio, Black Maria, from the late 1880s.
