This will be the third Deaf World Cup for Offreda, who helped lead Team USA to a championship in 2012 and is the head coach of the Gallaudet University women's soccer team. She plans to retire from Team USA after the tournament.

"Hanging up my cleats in Italy makes it even more special because it is where my father grew up and he is the reason I am still playing today because he shared with me the love of the game," Offreda said in a statement. "It will be bittersweet playing my final game for Team USA in front of my family and friends and wrapping up a career filled with many wonderful memories."

Offreda played college soccer at Montclair State University, where she was a two-time all-conference selection in 2008 and 2009.

Team USA begins Deaf World Cup play on June 22 against Poland.
