The school district announced it has given a contract extension to Superintendent Martin Handler through the 2019-2020 school year at a salary of $188,500.

"Dr. Handler has made academic progress a cornerstone of his tenure in Pine Plains and has been innovative in offering our students an ever-increasing range of relevant courses and opportunities,"  Board President Fred Couse said.  "Likewise, Dr. Handler has prudently managed the infrastructure and finances of the District to insure no “sudden surprises” of building needs for the taxpayers."

Handler has been superintendent since 2013. He received a contract extension last year.
