NEWSBREAK: A motorist was taken to the hospital after plowing his Nissan Sentra head-on into a tree on Knickerbocker Road in Tenafly around 2 p.m. Tuesday.
It’s unclear whether he’d suffered some kind of seizure of whether a vehicle may have suddenly pulled out of Columbus Drive headed south.
The driver, apparently in his late 20s or early 30s, appeared responsive as he was placed on a stretcher, his neck in a brace.
There were no skidmarks at the scene.
No other vehicles had stopped.
“It looked like he just plowed right into [the tree],” one onlooker told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
Police briefly closed a stretch of Knickerbocker Road from East Clinton to Hickory avenues.
