Fairview man charged with beating boy, 8

A Fairview man beat an 8-year-old boy several times with a belt and punched him in the chest, said authorities who arrested him on endangerment charges.

Kenneth Carr, described as an acquaintance of the boy’s mother, was arrested after she brought the youngster to the emergency room at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center with various cuts and bruises, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said Monday morning.

Carr, 39, was being held on $100,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail.
