Kenneth Cushnie’s criminal record stretches from New Jersey and New York to Florida and Georgia, records show.

Around 11 a.m. yesterday, Englewood officers rushed from door to door at the Park View Drive housing complex after receiving reports of a woman screaming for help, Detective Capt. Timothy Torell told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this afternoon.

They eventually found Cushnie’s 52-year-old wife beaten and bloodied, he said.

Cushnie, meanwhile, had locked himself in their apartment.

When he refused to come out, Torell said, city detectives and uniformed officers pushed their way in.

“He demanded to be taken to jail and we accommodated his request,” the captain said.

Once they got there, he said, Cushnie “remained uncooperative throughout the entire booking process.”

Cushnie was being held on $36,200 in the Bergen County Jail, charged with domestic violence aggravated assault, criminal restraint and refusing to be fingerprinted.
