An electrical fire at Hackensack Meridian Health's Hackensack University Medical Center broke out Wednesday morning, Oct. 2. An activated fire alarm brought the city's fire department to the scene around 6:40 a.m., firefighters said. "Further investigation found an electrical buss bar shorted out and activated a nearby sprinkler head," the HFD said on Facebook. A 25-year-old Somerset County man was sentenced on Monday, Sept. 30, to 64 months in prison, time served, after he pleaded guilty to concealing his attempts to provide support to Hamas, authorities said.
