"The smiles and thanks I got from these young players were priceless," said Brendan Vann, the founder of Cleatz4Kidz.

Vann partnered with Fair Lawn All Sports and Paterson's Parks & Recreation Department.

“I’d like to thank Cleatz 4 Kidz for making a connection with the city of Paterson. We hope that you continue doing this every year," Parks & Rec sports supervisor Dani Innoa told Vann.

Vann distributed the equipment during the final day of summer camp.

The goal of C4K is to collect and distribute lightly used, high-quality soccer equipment to young players and families in difficult financial situations, Vann said.

"Fair Lawn All Sports and local soccer families were very supportive and cooperative, donating huge amounts of equipment during the summer months," Vann added. "C4K held several collection dates at the Fair Lawn All Sports Complex plus picked up equipment door to door when required."

Based on the success, Vann said he plans to continue giving back.

“The reaction I’ve gotten has encouraged me to continue and expand the program," he said. "I look forward to giving the gift of play to many more young athletes in the future."
