Coyote, who resides in Englewood, turned 74 on Saturday.
Coyote, actor, author, director, screenwriter and narrator of films, theater, television and audiobooks, was born Oct. 10, 1941.
His voice work includes, narrating the opening ceremony of the 2002 Winter Olympics, Apple's iPad Retina Display campaign and an episode of "Lost."
While at college, Coyote ingested peyote and had a hallucination in which he saw his footprints as coyote paw-prints. A few years later, he came across Coyote's Journal, a poetry magazine, and thought the logo looked liked the paw prints he saw while on peyote. After confiding to a shaman, he decided to change his name.
