More Than 8,000 People Expected At Ringwood's St. Patrick's Day Parade

RINGWOOD, N.J. -- The only St. Patrick's Day parade in Passaic County is expected to draw more than 8,000 people to Ringwood on Saturday, March 25.

The 28th annual all-day event will proceed down Skyline Drive before ending at St. Catherine of Bologna Parish Center.

Mark Murphy of Erskine Lake in Ringwood is the grand marshall. 

A salesman by trade, Murphy has sung in the parade since its inception.

Many surrounding towns participate, and aside from an abundance of Irish music, there will be therapy horses and representatives from local volunteer and civic groups, police and fire departments and many other organizations.

The bands are: 

  • Claddagh Pipe Band of West Milford
  • Passaic County Pipes & Drums of Wayne
  • West Milford and Highlander Academy high school pipe bands will march as one unit.
  • Lakeland High School, Wanaque, marching band
  • Police Pipes & Drums of Morris County
  • Clan Na Vale Pipe Band of Allendale
  • Rockland County Firefighters Pipes & Drums
  • Police Pipes & Drums of Bergen County in Hillsdale
  • Rory O'Moore School of Pipes & Drums, Ledgewood
  • South Park & District Pipes & Drums, South Orange
  • Bergen County Firefighters Pipes Band of Bogota
  • Tri-County Pipes & Drums of River Edge
  • The New Jersey State Police Pipe Band

The parade starts at 1 p.m. at Ringwood Plaza and ends at St. Catherine's with a celebration featuring food, music and special vendors from 2-5 p.m.
