Paterson's Dr. Pickle 'Dills' Returns To Rutherford's Farmers' Market

PATERSON, N.J. — There's a secret to good pickles, a third-generation expert from Paterson told customers Wednesday during the opening day at the Rutherford Farmers' Market.

Josh aka Dr. Pickle, is based out of Paterson and is a third generation pickle maker. He said the secret to a good pickle was the right spice and quality cucumbers. Mail order is docpickle.com.

Dr. Pickle, who uses his great-grandfather's recipes, was one of a dozen vendors who welcomed the annual market back to the Williams Center Plaza for summer.

They sell at farmer's markets and events throughout the tri-state area and also online at docpickle.com.

Beginning June 15, the Rutherford Farmers' Market is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays. The market will also operate from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays starting July 2. 

The Rutherford Farmers' Market is part of the "Jersey Fresh" program to promote New Jersey farmers and their produce.
