The Holiday Fire Safety presentation is to be offered by the fire department in conjunction with the Dumont Community Group at 7 p.m. on Nov. 14, according to organizers.

Also involved in the planning of the event is the Dumont Elks Motorcycle Club, which will be hosting the talk at 15 American Legion Terrace. Light refreshments will be served according to organizers.

Andrew LaBruno, president and founder of the Dumont Community Group, said the fire department's presentation will be truly beneficial to anyone planning to decorate their homes this holiday season.

"It's a great presentation," he said. "It will deal, in part, with proper lighting techniques for Christmas trees and outdoor lighting to ensure safety - particularly in homes with children."
