Attendant Beaten, Gas Stations Robbed Minutes Apart In Bergen, Passaic Counties
A lone gunman committed back-to-back-to-back armed gas station robberies less than 10 miles apart in Bergen and Passaic counties Monday afternoon, authorities said. The attendant was pistol-whipped at a Valero on northbound Route 17 just before Route 46 in Hasbrouck Heights shortly before 3 p.m. Feb. 5, responders said. UPDATE: Police said a man robbed another after both arrived at a Route 46 gas station together. Little Falls officers and detectives responded to the Valero station after the victim phoned in a reported robbery shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday, Detective Lt. Rober Prall said. A tractor-trailer driver was hospitalized following an overnight crash on Route 17, authorities said. Traffic was initially limited to one lane in each direction after the northbound rig hit the center median around 2 a.m. near the Valero gas station, leaving the tractor on one side of the divider and the trailer on the other. $2M Mega Millions Ticket Sold In Edison, $10,000 Winner Sold In Mahwah
A lottery ticket good for $2 million was sold in Middlesex County, New Jersey Lottery officials said. The ticket from Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing was purchased from Route 1 ShopRite in Edison. A third-tier ticket winning $10,000 was also sold at the Valero gas station on Route 17 N. in Mahwah. That ticket matched four numbers and the Megaball. A box truck whose driver swerved to avoid colliding with another vehicle careened off northbound Route 17 in Upper Saddle River and slammed into a service station pump, igniting a pre-dawn fire Thursday.
