'Lucky Guy': Man Changing Tire In Midland Park OK After Car Falls On Him, Authorities Say
A Midland Park man could consider himself fortunate after a vehicle fell on him while he was changing a tire, authorities said. The jack "may not have been placed in the strongest locations to hold the weight of the car," borough Police Chief Michael Powderley said after the 58-year-old resident was injured on Erie Avenue shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday, March 19. SUVs Collide, Topple Traffic Light In Midland Park
A driver was hospitalized after two SUVs collided at a Midland Park intersection, taking out a traffic light in the process. A Chevy Tahoe slammed into the light pole in the collision with a Dodge Durango at the corner of Erie and Franklin avenues around 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8. The Midland Park Ambulance Corps took the female driver of the Toyota to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening. Sedan Lands Upside Down On Fence Off Route 208
A driver escaped serious injury when she rolled her sedan onto its roof atop a chain-link fence just off Route 208, authorities said. The 60-year-old Oakland motorist was hospitalized with neck and shoulder pain after Wyckoff firefighters freed her from the 2007 Toyota Camry, Police Lt. Joseph Soto said. She told police she was headed south on 208 shortly before 1 p.m. Saturday, March 26, when she swerved to avoid another vehicle and things literally went sideways. Construction Worker Struck By Backhoe In Midland Park
A construction worker was hospitalized after being struck Wednesday afternoon by a backhoe in Midland Park. The Kemsco Construction and Equipment Company (Newark) worker was injured shortly before 4:30 p.m. behind the Midland Park Shopping Center on Godwin Avenue. Members of the Midland Park Ambulance Corps tended to the worker and took him to the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. There was no immediate word on the extent of the injury. OSHA was notified. Second Midland Park Vehicle In Three Days Plows Into Building
Three days after a motorist drove an SUV onto an entrance ramp of a Midland Park dental office, another driver crashed her sedan into the front door of a data processing office a half-mile down the road. The elderly driver was trying to park when her Volvo 960 lurched forward into Commerce Register Inc. on Godwin Avenue, in a building that also houses Peter's Fish Market.
