NJ Releases Hate Crime Totals By Town, Race, More: Guess Which County Had The Most
Nearly 40% of all hate crimes reported in New Jersey last year were against Blacks, more than the combined total against whites, Jews, Latinos and Muslims, according to State Police crime figures released Tuesday.
The town with the most reported bias incidents in 2020 was Lakewood, the figures show.
More than half of all reported bias incidents in New Jersey last year involved straight harassment, as opposed to vandalism and other related crimes.
More than 13% occurred at schools, parks or playgrounds.
The county with the most, overall, was Monmouth.

Retired NJ Corrections Officer, Couple Charged In Sex Trafficking Of Girl, 14
A retired New Jersey corrections officer paid a couple for sex with a 14-year-old girl who was trafficked at an Atlantic City casino hotel, authorities charged.
The girl was rescued when she showed up at the hotel after undercover State Police detectives responded to an online escort ad, state Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal said Wednesday.
Authorities later that day arrested Derrick V. Ross, 27, of Atlantic City, who Grewal said brought the girl to the hotel to have sex for money – and often sexually assaulted her himself.

NJ State Police Rescue Girl, 14, Forced Into Prostitution At Atlantic City Casino
New Jersey State Police rescued a 14-year-old girl who they said was forced into prostitution at an Atlantic City casino hotel.
They also arrested the accused human traffickers, as well as a retired state correction officer who they said paid to have sex with the victim at his home.
Kurt C. Young, 52, of South Dennis Township was seized Tuesday and charged with sexual assault of a minor and engaging in prostitution with a minor, Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal said Thursday.
