Lyndhurst Police Sgt. William Kapp was on patrol on Disposal Road, which rests adjacent to the DeKorte Park complex, when he came across an older model Ford pickup truck on Sunday, Sept. 8, Detective Lt. Teen Airlifted In UTV Accident On Sussex County Farm: Police An 18-year-old male was airlifted to the hospital following a crash on a Sussex County farm on Monday, Aug. 26, local police said. The male was riding on the back of the UTV, a larger type of ATV, which was being used to perform work on a farm on Layton Lane in Sparta, Sparta Police Capt. Tom Snyder said. The UTV made an unexpected turn and the victim lost his balance, falling off and hitting his head, Snyder said. He lost consciousness and was flown to the hospital. "The operator of the UTV was fully cooperative with patrol units and showed no signs of intoxication," Snyder said.

An occupant of the home got out OK and no injuries were reported in the two-alarm blaze, which broke out around 2 p.m. Tuesday on Sherwood Lane off Crescent and Franklin avenues and was quickly knocked down. Responders: 2 Men On ATV Hit By Train In East Rutherford End Up In Creek Two Hasbrouck Heights men were injured Sunday afternoon when their ATV was struck by an NJ Transit train in East Rutherford, authorities said. One of the men tumbled into Berry's Creek near the Route 3 bridge and the other went in after him, responders said. Both were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening, they said.
