CRESSKILL, N.J. -- Cresskill police issued a careless driving summons to a 69-year-old River Vale woman whose SUV struck a 9-year-old borough boy who remained hospitalized in critical condition Friday.

The boy was crossing from the east to west side of Rose Street near Margie Avenue when the vehicle, headed north on Rose, struck him just before 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sgt. Jason Lanzilotti told Daily Voice.

"He's still listed as critical -- no change," Lanzilotti said Friday afternoon.
