CLOSTER, N.J. -- The Closter Fire Department has received a $10,000 grant to buy life-saving equipment, including multi-gas detectors, scene lights, firefighting hoods and helmets, and confined space equipment.
Fire Chief Brian Pierro said the donation “Fills a critical void and provides us with equipment that enhances firefighter performance and safety,” and they are extremely grateful for the donation.
The borough recognized donors Trivedi-Capacity Associates, LLC and Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. at a recent presentation in the firehouse, attended by local officials and representatives of the donors.
The grant is part of a nationwide philanthropic program. The Fireman’s Fund was founded in 1863 and grants awards to fire service organizations for life-saving equipment, firefighter training and community education.
Fireman’s Fund has awarded grants of more than $31 million since 2004, $1.3 million to fire organizations in New Jersey. Trivedi, through its affiliate Capacity Group, has donated $128,000 to fire fighting organizations across the country.
The Closter Fire Department is at 100 Ruckman Road.
