Before he retired, Cancro was a supervisor for Con Edison. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, in Oradell, and a member of the Con Edison Retirees.
He is survived by his children, Linda and John Lucas, Nancy and Karo Johnson, and Susan and Ronald Baker, and his grandchildren, Jeff, Alex, Jill, Farrell and Sam. He was preceded by his wife, Josephine.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, March 20, at the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Rd., in Oradell. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Joseph's, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, in Hawthorne.
