La Stella, who grew up in Westwood, turns 28 Tuesday.
La Stella attended St. John's University, where he played for the Red Storm, and attended Coastal Carolina University, where he played for the Chanticleers.
During the eighth round of the 2011 MLB draft, La Stella was picked by The Braves, and then spent the rest of the season with the Rome Braves. During 2012, he played for the Lynchburg Hillcats and in 2013, he played for the Mississippi Braves.
La Stella still continues to live in Closter.
