"This is a time where the church really gets into the holiday spirit, and we have people who spend a lot of their time making goods to sell," said Frances Morra, chairman of the church's holiday fair and tag sale held last weekend.
The holiday fair and tag sale is also the biggest fundraiser of the year for the First Congregational Church on Main Street.
"This was a nice turnout. There was lots of handcrafts, good foods, homemade jellies and jams and even Vermont cheese," said associate Pastor Meg William.
Throughout the day, there was entertainment that could please people of all ages. Saturday morning included the highlight of the event — the arrival of Santa Claus for a three-hour pre-Thanksgiving visit.
There were craft vendors, and many other items for sale, including books, gift baskets, holiday decorations, cheese and more. There was also a bake sale and breakfast food for sale for anyone with the munchies.
"It was a great day of fellowship and shopping, and also a time to see those we haven't seen in awhile," said Morra.
