The shop installed a new track just a few weeks ago, noted owner Ron Bosco.

“We’re so pleased with the setup,” said Bosco, who has been inviting patrons to learn how to build and operate miniature recreation vehicles in races for years. He established business in 1988 and now carries thousands of parts and products in stock from electronics to simple pine wood derby items.

Much of the appeal is not only in inviting and challenging others to take a few laps, but in trying out new remote controls. The venue also offers birthday parties and a dozen rental cars for an outdoor track.

Crowds line up on weekends to catch the action, so Bosco recommends making reservations in advance.

“We also have a crawler track, so anyone male or female, may find out that they like this kind of thing. I’ve had generations of families come in and reminisce about when they first started."

Bosco hopes now to modify some of his designs and consider keeping events fresh by offering timed races and activities that are economically priced at $5.
