Teaneck Students Aid Rockleigh Seniors

ROCKLEIGH, N.J. -- Students from Maayanot Yeshiva High School in Teaneck volunteered at the Jewish Home at Rockleigh by sorting medical supplies to be sent to refugees and the needy.

The Harriet Seid Medical Equipment Sorting Project, with the support of the AFYA Foundation, was held last week at the Jewish Home.

Teens also spent time with residents around Christmas as they played games with them including bingo and bowling.

"They both get a lot out of it," volunteer Marc Serco said. "The teens and seniors, especially during the holiday season."

Dozens of youngsters worked with those who need long-term care, have dementia, or those who have physical difficulties and need help getting around.

The Jewish Home Family aims to benefit the elderly and their families, at home and at each care facility.
