"I find that people are more settled now than they were then," said Demarest native Jay Ringelstein-Mufson, who is organizing the Nov. 14 event. "When you are in your 40s, it’s a whole different ballgame."

She and three others have been using social media to contact as many of the 280 students as they can.

She has seen the changes over the past few reunions, from pregnancies to fellow classmates' kids moving through the Demarest school system and onto college.

"There are so many cliches in high school - the jocks, the nerds, the burnouts," she said. "When you grow older it doesn’t matter. It’s kind of like The Breakfast Club."

The group's yearbook from 30 years ago took a Trivial Pursuit theme. Ringelstein-Mufson is hoping a similar approach will have the attendees reminiscing about their principal, school plays, and sporting events.

The all-inclusive party will be held at the Park Ridge Marriott from 7:30 - 11:30 p.m. Block hotel space may be limited, although tickets were still available.
