Cresskill's Farmhouse Cafe Expands To Westwood This Spring

CRESSKILL, N.J. — Farmhouse Cafe and Eatery in Cresskill will be opening a second location on Center Avenue in Westwood this spring.

Farmhouse Cafe originally started in 1979 as “Pita Cuisine” at 65 Spring Street and have moved around the downtown Manhattan neighborhood for the last 30 plus years.

“We’re doing a big build out right now and a whole other draw of people, so we are excited about that," said Elisa Kipperman, the co-owner of the business.

"We’ll be as far from Cresskill as we can get,” 

The owners plan to take over an old Italian restaurant in a warehouse where they will have more space open in the kitchen. They don’t have a set opening date but expect to have something from spring.

Farmhouse Cafe was designed and built by owners Nissim Hanina and Nathan Kipperman — by hand — with help from master contractor Ivan Masica. 

The original structure in Cresskill an old house on a farm. The wood from the demolition was saved and made into furniture, They made their own doors and windows. In the current scheme, posters and antiques have all been collected over many years and have been moved around between previous locations in the city.

The cafe serves American cuisine, salads, sandwiches, soups, stews and home-style dishes from various cuisines around the globe.
