Heights improved to 5-0 with the win, while North Arlington fell to 1-5.
It took less than a minute for senior quarterback Frank Quatrone to get on the scoreboard, rushing 11 yards for the Aviators first touchdown 53 seconds into the game. That followed a Dylan Auriemma interception of a Justin Cruz’ pass on North Arlington’s first drive. Less than four minutes later, running back John Iurato dashed in from six yards for a 14-0 lead.
Quatrone hit sophomore wide receiver Jasiah Purdie with a touchdown pass on the Aviators next possession, before running for his second touchdown of the quarter and a 28-0 Heights lead.
Fullback Matt DiChiara scored from two yards early in the second quarter, before Iurato scored one more time, from 17 yards out, to give the Aviators a 42-0 halftime lead. Kicker Joey Giancaspro was six of six on point after conversion kicks in the half.
Sophomore running back Nick Monahan scored from two yards out in the third quarter for the game’s final score.
Quatrone finished with 59 yards rushing on three carries, two of which went for touchdowns, while completing four of five passes for 56 yards and one touchdown. Iurato had 24 yards on his three carries, scoring twice.
The Aviators play at Ridgefield next week before hosting Becton in one of the two first place NJIC Bowl Games Oct. 28. Becton finished its regular season with a 42-13 victory against Wallington Thursday evening.
