Jersey City Together has been documenting complaints by residents living in River Edge Management properties. The company is owned by Esther Kaplan, and it recently renamed itself Trendy Management, according to the Jersey Journal.

Residents issues brought up at the meeting included flooding, mold, bedbugs and insufficient heating, among others, the Jersey Journal reported.

Almost 200 people met at St. Paul Episcopal Church to voice concerns, and the audience included Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop, the Jersey Journal noted. He said he'd not heard about these conditions and that city inspectors would be out this week.

The business gets pretty low marks on Yelp, as well, with a 2.0 rating out of five stars.

While there are only 15 "recommended reviews" which are factored into that rating, there are another 93 non-recommended ones, on one side or another of a chasm -- either glowing reviews or horror stories.

The company does get higher marks with its Google reviews, though there's also not a lot of gray in the reviews, and it's again love-hate.

Jersey City Together noted that it was "very thankful for the courage of the tenant leaders who spoke and came out, as well as to the elected officials and others who stood with them," in a Sunday evening Facebook post.

"Enough is enough. Looking forward to seeing this through."
