His injuries appeared more serious than hers.

The municipal building inspector ruled the house uninhabitable after the crash on Brighton Place at Plaza Road North. Officials said they were condemning the residence.

PSE&G was summoned because a gas line was compromised.

Tire tracks a block away indicate the car may have struck a curb and swerved down the block before hitting the house.

"Either she had a medical emergency or swerved to avoid something and then lost control ," a responder said.

It was the second crash into a structure in Fair Lawn in hours.

Earlier Thursday, Fair Lawn police used CPR to revive a driver whose car rolled into a TD Bank branch.
