- YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: The victim of a luxury high-rise home invasion in Edgewater was pulled from his bed by four gunmen who broke his ribs while beating him, then tied him up and spent three hours stealing $2 million in cash, gold and jewelry, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. No injuries were reported in the robbery at the St. Moritz on Gorge Road, a law enforcement source with direct knowledge of the incident told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
The robbers removed a surveillance DVR during the heist, which occurred sometime around 4 a.m., the source said. (EDITOR’S NOTE: It was subsequently reported that the thieves took three hours, beginning around 1 a.m.)
