CLIFFSIDE PARK, N.J.– More than 150 cadets graduated from the 2016 Cliffside Park Junior Police Academy.
The academy included intensive CPR and First Aid training for 40 of them conducted by EMT Christian Ventura at the borough firehouse .
Detective Jason Kangas directed the academy, with assistance from Police Chief Richard Gaito and his officers, as well as borough firefighters and EMTs.
The family of Officer Stephen Petruzzello, who died after being struck by a car while on duty, helped make the academy possible, officials said.
