EDGEWATER, N.J. -- The Cliffside Park-Edgewater Wellness Challenge is nearing an end and many of those involved are preparing to celebrate.
The eight-week challenge, a joint effort between the Cliffside Park and Edgewater health departments, began in early April and is concluding on June 4.
"The key to achieving and maintaining a healthy weight isn't about short-term dietary changes," says an advertisement for the challenge. "It's about a lifestyle that includes healthy eating, regular physical activity and balancing the number of calories you consume with the number of calories your body uses."
The group is meeting at 9 a.m. on Saturday to exercise, have breakfast and raffle off prizes. Final weigh-ins and blood pressure measurements also will be taken.
