Photos: Three Shops Cut Ribbons In Closter Plaza

CLOSTER, N.J. — Closter Plaza welcomed three businesses during a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday afternoon.

Massage Envy, owned by franchisees Sol Glastien and his daughter Marla Robinson, offers massages and facials. Kidville, another franchise, provides children with a play-area and classes in art, music and gym.

Rudy's is a family-owned Italian restaurant that has stood in Closter Plaza for over 50 years.

"Now you can drop your kid off to play at Kidville, get a massage at Massage Envy and then get some pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe at Rudy's," remarked Closter Mayor John Glidden to a crowd that included Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi, Assemblyman Robert Auth and Alpine Mayor Paul Tomasko.

More shops are set to open in the coming months, including a Whole Foods, which will open in November. Glidden believes the shopping center will reinvigorate the area.

"It is going to be a great place that will affect the town positively long term," he said.

Tomasko agreed.

"I am happy this place is so close to Alpine so that we too can benefit from it," he said.
