Both drivers were hurt in the crash, Gloucester Township police said. Only one child was on the bus and was not hurt, they said.

The child was uninjured but their mother transported them to local hospital for evaluation as a precaution, police said.

The crash occurred at about 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 27 at Dresden Court and Jarvis Road in Gloucester Township, initial reports said.

The driver of the car purportedly had a medical emergency, crossed the double-yellow line and struck the school bus head-on, police said.

Lambs Terrace Fire Department and Inspira BLS/ALS responded to stabilize and treat both drivers and the single passenger of the bus.

The school bus was owned and operated by the West Berlin Bus Service, police said.

Jarvis Road was closed for approximately two hours.
