Uber Giving Temple Students $200K In Free Rides
Temple University students can get free rides from Uber this year. The ride-share company is providing $200,000 in free rides to students looking to leave unsafe situations, according to the school's student-run newspaper, Temple News. Each student can get four free rides costing $20 through the end of the year, thanks to a partnership with Student Activists Against Sexual Assault, a student organization that aims to combat sexual violence, the newspaper says. Nine New Jersey schools won the prestigious National Blue Ribbon School Award. The U.S. Department of Education on Tuesday, Sept. 19 recognized 353 schools across the country as National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2023. TikTok Threat Boosts Police Presence At Camden County Tech School
A threat made over the weekend on TikTok aimed at a Camden County Technical School brought an increased police presence Monday, Sept. 18. Gloucester Township Campus Principal Chantell Green in an email to parents said the threat was deemed unsubstantial, but that there would be an increased police presence this week. A new Monmouth University poll shows that a majority of parents are okay with their kids being taught gender identity, but only in high school.
