Mahlon Kellum was found by police who were called about 2:30 a.m. to the intersection of 6th and Viola Streets on a report of a shooting, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer.

Kellum was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died of his injuries, Mayer and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez said.

The shooting remains under investigation and detectives are working to determine who is responsible, they said.
