A church was struck by lightning in Little Egg Harbor Township, and trees struck at least two homes on the 100 block of Hickory Lane in the Lincroft section of Middletown. 

Power was cut as one tree crashed through a roof, fire officials said. No one was reported hurt.

There were also several storm-related house fires reported in Middletown and Barnegat townships.

In Lincroft, a tree caused significant damage to a home on Greengrove Court, according to an initial report. 

In Barnegat Township, a home was struck by lightning on the 100 block of Ravenwood Blvd., according to an initial report. No other details were immediately available.

St. Theresa Church at 450 Radio Road in Little Egg Harbor was hit by lighting, but did not catch fire about 11:15 a.m. An electricians and maintenance crews were called to the scene.

Earlier, in Burlington County, a vehicle reportedly ran off the Garden State Parkway southbound and into the woods, striking a tree. The crash occurred near mile-marker 55 in Bass River,  according to an initial report. One person was reported hurt. There were no other immediate details.
