South Jersey Motorcyclist, 31, Killed In Head-On Collision

A 31-year-old father from Atlantic County was killed when his motorcycle collided head-on with a car in Galloway Township, authorities said.

Darryl Crowder, a construction worker from Hammonton, was driving east on the White Horse Pike at about 5:40 p.m. Thursday when a motorist driving west struck the motorcycle as she tried to turn left onto South Cologne Avenue, Galloway police said.

Crowder was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Trauma Unit in Atlantic City, where he died of his injuries.

The 67-year-old driver of the car, from Vineland, suffered minor injuries, police said.

No tickets had been issued.

The crash is being investigated by Galloway Police Officer Ronald Gorneau and Officer Nick Stewart.
