South Jersey Man Arrested In Truck Stop Slaying

A 40-year-old man from Burlington County has been arrested in connection with the death of another man at a South Jersey truck stop, authorities said.

Police officers were called on a report of a fight about 11 p.m. Thursday in the driver’s lounge at Flying J Travel Center on Slapes Corner Road in Carneys Point, Salem County, reports said.

Marchello Williams of Browns Mills was being held at the Salem County Correctional Facility on charges of murder and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, police said.

Police found Williams sitting at a table and a 47-year-old victim from Newark, Delaware, on the floor,

Tysheem Porter was pronounced dead at the scene from blunt force trauma to his head, police said.
