Pedestrian Struck, Killed In South Jersey Crash

The collision occurred about 9:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of Route 73 in Maple Shade, according to initial reports.

The victim, who had not been identified, was walking on the highway when a car traveling about 55 mph struck the pedestrian.

EMS crews and police pronounced the victim dead at the crash scene, according to reports.

Route 73 was closed for several hours during an investigation. 

The driver's name also had not been released.

No tickets had been issued and there were no other injuries reported.
