Ta Li Mi, a 50-year-old Chinese national, was arrested after offering an undercover detective sex in addition to massage therapy at Sunny Acupressure Spa on Main Street, Detective Lt. Frank Ramaci told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

“Other females in the building, including the spa’s manager, where documented before being released,” Ramaci said.

“There was also evidence the Spa was being used to house some of the female workers, which is a violation of borough codes,” the lieutenant said. “Upon clearing the establishment, the borough’s fire official was brought in for inspection of the premises and subsequently shut down the operation.

“We are also investigating the possibility these woman are victims of human trafficking and being forced into this illicit conduct.”
