NEW MILFORD, N.J. -- A New Milford man was being held on $200,000 bail on charges that he sexually assaulted a teenager over the course of three years in New Milford and River Edge.
Peter Mitchell, 43, was arrested following an investigation by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Special Victims Unit and police from New Milford and River Edge after the girl, now 16, went to authorities, Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said Monday.
He was charged with sexual assault, aggravated sexual contact and child endangerment, Molinelli said.
The prosecutor identified Mitchell as an EMT.
He is not affiliated with the borough, however, New Milford Volunteer Ambulance Corps Capt. Denise Brunner told Daily Voice.
