NEW MILFORD, N.J. -- William "Bill’ Paul Petrie, 71, passed away June 17, 2016, in New Milford.
Petrie was born June 7, 1945, in Jersey City and was a devoted husband to Rita. They shared 50 years of loving marriage together.
He worked for United Parcel Service for 32 years, retiring in 2002, and was a committed husband and father who gave everything he had to ensure the happiness and well-being of his family. In his younger years, Petrie was an active outdoor sportsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing. More recently, he spent his time doting on his seven grandchildren and enjoying travel excursions with his close and dear friends.
Petrie is survived by his wife Rita; sons William, Dean and Scott; daughter-in-laws Arlene and Tracy; grandchildren Shelby, Evan, Sydney, Daphne, Thomas, Eric and Jonathan; sister Valerie and her husband Dennis; aunt Martha; and cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Boulevard Funeral Home & Cremation Service in New Milford. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Church in Oradell.
