NEW MILFORD, N.J. -- Marcella E. Sweeney of New Milford, died on Dec. 22. She was 89.
Born in Hackensack, she was a resident of New Milford for over 65 years where she was a member of the VFW Post 4290 Ladies Auxiliary and a founding member of the Church of the Ascension Roman Catholic Parish. She was also a longtime volunteer with Deborah Hospital.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Olley and her husband Raymond, Harry Jr. and his wife Joan, Janet Sweeney, Maureen Crispino and her husband Tom, and Kathy Billera and her companion Joe Portante; grandchildren, Brian Sweeney and his wife Michelle, David Olley, Cindy Garcia and her husband Randy, Danny Olley and his wife Peggy, Matt Olley and his wife Karrie, Joey Billera and his wife Kelly, Billy Crispino and his wife Lauren, Kerri Billera,Todd Crispino and his wife Krista, Kaitlyn Billera, and Ed Reitz and his wife Natalie; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harry J. Sweeney Sr. and her 11 siblings.
Visitation will be held at the Parow Funeral Home 185 Ridge Rd., North Arlington on Tuesday, Dec. 27 from 10-11 a.m. Religious service will begin at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.
